Dr. Michelle Hobby is the owner and director of Lehigh Valley Psychological Services. Dr. Hobby is a licensed clinical psychologist in Pennsylvania, specializing in women's mental health. She maintains a private practice in the Lehigh Valley, in the center of downtown Hellertown.
With over 20 years of experience in the field of mental health, and as a graduate of California School of Professional Psychology, she is currently serving as private practitioner and licensed Clinical Psychologist working with a broad spectrum of women's mental health needs and emotional well-being.
Dr. Hobby's professional background is extensive and diversified, encompassing work in numerous community-county mental health centers, university counseling centers, an outpatient substance abuse program at Kaiser Permanente medical center, and private practice in three areas of California (Visalia, San Luis Obispo, & San Diego), and now a private practice on the east coast in Pennsylvania. She has worked with individuals and families (adults, children, adolescents), as well as provided group and couple's therapy.
Dr. Hobby is an experienced, interactive, caring, and collaborative Psychologist. Her therapeutic approach is to provide support, guidance, and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges as well as come to an understanding of past life difficulties. She integrates evidence based treatments and individualized techniques specific to each patient's clinical and support needs. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths, meet their goals, and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
Areas of specialty and expertise are Women's Mental Health, Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders, Postpartum Adjustment & Wellness, & Perinatal Grief &Loss. Dr. Hobby's additional areas of interest are college adjustment, women's lifespan transitions, and work-life balance.
